Radiator
Radiator:
The radiator is a primary component of your vehicle’s cooling system. The water pump circulates hot antifreeze from the engine to the radiator, keeping the car from overheating. To maintain your cooling system, it’s important that the critical parts are efficiently removing heat from the engine. If your car is overheating and coolant is not moving effectively throughout the system, have your service advisor take a look at your engine’s cooling system. Many people think a coolant leak must be present, but the truth is that these very important cooling devices plug up slowly over time from minerals in the water and antifreeze mixture. Once a radiator begins to flow less coolant the engine can overheat or run excessively hot. Don’t risk the expense of damaging your engine. If you see an abnormal temperature please give us a call.
Results of Radiator Neglect:
Without a functioning radiator the cooling system will be affected and may need to be replaced. A leaking cooling system will not allow the engine to get the proper amount of coolant. If ignored long enough, the engine will overheat, leading to costly repairs.
From a safety standpoint there’s a slight risk, because an overheated engine resulting from a radiator problem could leave you stranded. There’s high environmental impact, because leaking coolant is harmful to children, pets and other animals.
